Manchester Metropolitan University is home to a diverse international student population from more than 130 countries.

The University has five faculties:

Manchester Metropolitan’s campus is located in the centre of Manchester, amongst world-renowned music, arts, shopping and sports venues and the second largest Chinatown in Britain. Manchester is considered the UK’s ‘best city to live in’** and is considered one of the world's top 15 cities for Generation Z††.

The University is also undergoing a £400m investment programme to enhance its teaching and research facilities, buildings and public spaces.

Manchester Metropolitan conducts research in fields that are actively shaping the world today and into the future. Eighty five percent of the University’s research has 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent' impact* and they are leading in developing clean energy through the Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre, a £4.1m facility based on their campus. Their Future Economies research centre is also working to shape policy and business change globally.

The University provides its students with regular employability events including advice workshops, industry networking, guest speakers and careers fairs. It also has industry links with many global companies, including IBM, Bentley Motors, Bosch, Microsoft, Nike, Adidas, Puma, SAP, Texas Instruments, Volkswagen and Walt Disney, and its students benefit from lifelong access to their digital careers service.

Support is available to international students before they arrive through the International Office. The team is highly knowledgeable, approachable and always there to help. The University also provides support to current students through free English language classes as well as Academic and Study Skills Tutors.

The University’s Student Hub provides a comprehensive information service on all student-related matters and can refer students for specialist support on student living, studying and finance, as well as immigration and welfare.

Manchester Metropolitan also has a confidential Counselling, Mental Health and Wellbeing Team who can provide guidance through one-to-one sessions or group workshops on relaxation, stress management and confidence building.
