This one-year course is an ideal introduction to art, design and media practice at undergraduate level. It offers a range of creative experiences, helping you make an informed choice about which subject to pursue.
You’ll be able to explore four areas, including visual communication (graphic design, advertising, packaging, bookbinding, art direction, film, illustration, moving image, and model making); three-dimensional design (architecture, landscape architecture, interior, product, furniture, prop and set design); fashion and fabrication (menswear, womenswear, costume, fashion photography, styling and constructed textiles) and fine art (painting, mixed media, printmaking, installation, sculpture, performance and photography). Throughout this comprehensive course, you’ll develop a portfolio of work, reflecting your growing understanding of the different areas of art and design.
Career opportunities
Students progress to study courses such as architecture, fine art, graphic design, illustration animation, fashion, product & furniture design and interior design, often choosing to stay at Kingston University.
