Simran Parti, MSc Advanced Physiotherapy, from India

Testimonial from Simran Parti, MSc Advanced Physiotherapy, from India , student at Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care

What do you like most about your course?

The best thing about my course is the facilities provided by the University like the Gait Lab, Academic English Coaching and online library access. Also, the staff are brilliant and very approachable - they will go out of their way to help you out. The curriculum covers everything in my area of interest and gives me an opportunity to evolve further. The various seminars conducted lend their helping hand in preparing me for the journey ahead.

The facilities and the staff have made my transition from India to Manchester a piece of cake – it is something I really adore and will always be grateful for.

What skills do you feel you have gained during your studies at Manchester Met?

I have gained immense confidence in dealing with patients, have learnt the correct way of carrying out research and now I feel I have developed the skill of getting into every minute detail of every disease or finding and getting the best solution possible.

What is your top tip for other students looking to study this course at Manchester Metropolitan University?

Also, try to attend as many webinars as possible, which the University arranges for new applicants. It will take care of all your concerns. Also, study well about the various facilities like English Coaching, which would be required and helpful for your course and you can join them as soon as you start with your term. Testimonial from Jia Qi Germaine Chua, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, from Singapore, student at Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care

What do you like most about your course?

There are a wide range of well-maintained equipment used during practical sessions and all are up to date with current practices. The teaching staff are wonderful and are always happy to answer any questions you may have or help you out of any problems you may face during the course. They are understanding and compassionate and genuinely want to impart their knowledge to students, which makes learning from them so much fun. I appreciate the support and welfare given to all students at every level.

What skills do you feel you have gained during your studies at Man Met?

The skills I have developed while being on the course are definitely self-discipline and being proactive. Discipline is needed to ensure you study on days when you are not required in school. While the teaching staff are great at reaching out to students and making sure we understand the content, being proactive in studies is still a great skill to learn as not everything is spoon-fed to us. These are also good skills to have when we enter the workplace in the future as it would train us to be responsible and reliable clinicians.

Testimonial from Tsz Kin Ho, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, from Hong Kong, student at Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care

What do you like most about your course?

I like the practical sessions in my course because there are a lot of chances to interact with my classmates and lecturers. We divide into different groups or pairs in every session so we have a great opportunity to know more about different body types and helps us in understanding the knowledge.

Also, the lecturers are so helpful in helping the students who feel shy and quiet in lessons. They will talk to all of us individually and make sure we know what is going on in the class. This makes me feel easier and more comfortable in learning because it helps me build up more confidence when I need to work with different patients in the future.

The Uni life and equipment at Manchester Metropolitan University are amazing and impressed me.

What is your top tip for other students looking to study this course at Manchester Metropolitan University?

Show initiative in class. Don’t be shy or afraid to ask any questions because it is a great opportunity to ask a physiotherapist, in order to make sure you understand in every session.
