Foundation year: We have a foundation year option for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the media & communication skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree.

Course accreditations: You’ll graduate with a degree accredited by three industry-recognised bodies – the National Council for Training of Journalists (NCTJ), the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) and the Professional Publisher’s Association.

Entry requirements

For September 2024 and September 2025 entry: The entry requirements for this course are 104 - 120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: 112 tariff points (Grade DMM). All subjects are considered.

International entry requirements: Please see below some examples of the qualifications for entry onto Year 1 for September 2024 and September 2025 entry:

China: Chinese Senior High School Graduation Certificate (Huikao) average 80%, or Gaokao 61-71%. Grade depends on the course
France: Baccalaureate with 11.5–12.5 overall or 10.5-11.5 (international option)
Hong Kong: HKDSE Diploma (4,4,3 to 4,4,4 from three subjects). Grade depends on the course
India: All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Standard XII) 60-70%
Spain: Titulo de Bachillerato with 6 - 7. Grade depends on the course
Turkey: Devlet Lise Diplomasi/Lise Bitirme Diplomasi 3.5/5.0 or 70%

For September 2024 and September 2025 entry: If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in all other components, or equivalent. For more information check out our International entry requirements.
