These institutions award a variety of masters degrees, including Master of Science (MSc), Master of Arts (MA), Master of Research (MRes), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and more.

Duration

Postgraduate degrees in Australia typically range from one to two years for coursework degrees, with research degrees such as a Master of Research taking longer, usually three to four years.

Language of Teaching

English is the primary language of teaching, and there are many English-taught programs at the postgraduate level, catering to a large international student population.

How to Apply for a Masters Degree in Australia

International students usually apply directly to their chosen institution, either online or through an agent. Required application documents often include a personal statement, resume or CV, academic transcripts, and references.

Proof of English proficiency is mandatory, with IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge scores commonly accepted. The required score might be higher for postgraduate studies compared to undergraduate studies.

Some postgraduate degrees might require specific academic backgrounds or entrance exams like the GMAT.

Tuition fees for international students can vary widely depending on the institution and field of study. Generally, masters degrees start from around 20,000 AUD per year.
