Studying geology abroad

A geology degree invites international students to explore the Earth's structure, history, and natural processes through hands-on fieldwork and scientific investigation.

Study the composition and history of the Earth with a degree in Geology. Learn about the processes that form our planet, from its core and crust, to atmosphere and oceans, its material composition and what we can learn about our interactions with the planet and its climate.

Undergraduate

Graduates of degrees in geology can go on to careers as a geologist, geochemist or academia, in mining or even as government advisors.

Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes, including lectures, tutorials, seminars and group projects. Depending on your course, you may also have the option to take part in a work placement. Modules you study could include:

Postgraduate

Graduates of masters degrees in geology can go on to careers as a geologist, geochemist or academia, in mining or even as government advisors.

Your masters degree will be delivered through lectures and seminars, with a possibility of group projects. Geology masters degrees are likely to be focused on a specialism of Geology. Specialisms you might study include:
