About VETERINARY MEDICINE MASTER PROGRAMME, UG:Dip, UG:Diploma, University Degree, DVM - at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences

The course awarded with the EAEVE certificate (issued on 11 May 2016) attesting the highest standards of education in Europe assures the candidates of the best choice for veterinary course. Students while studying Veterinary Medicine obtain knowledge of the subjects belonging to the general and basic groups, which corresponds with general academic profile of education, then they have clinical subjects. The student takes the compulsory practice and clinical internships, through which he acquires practical skills used in veterinary profession. Conducting species oriented training, clinical internships and the opportunity to choose items from a group of elective subjects allow students to clarify and adjust the acquired knowledge and skills to the future practical profession. The theoretical knowledge in the field of veterinary science during the first four years of study provides a basis for practical training in the final years of study. Professional specialization can be continued during PhD studies, postgraduate studies and specialization courses for veterinarians.

Entry requirements

Our Veterinary Medicine programme is mainly intended for High School/ Secondary School graduates who fulfil the minimum requirements. Candidates for these studies have to possess a high level of knowledge on the subjects of: Chemistry, Biology and English on B2 level. This needs to be proven by certificate or school reports.

  • The Faculty has high-tech equipment for animal treatment, which is unique among other country research centres: magnetic resonance, tomography and elastography devices.
  • Wide choice of elective courses, such as Dentistry, Diseases of Exotic Animals, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Quality Management in Food Manufacturing;
  • 10th and 11th semester curriculum comprises only practical classes during which students experience direct contact with a wide number of animal species and classes in food processing plants and slaughterhouses. Students cooperate with the veterinary polyclinic staff, take part in 24-hour veterinary medical service and assist in emergency house calls (Mobile Clinic).
