Overview
This is a practically orientated, commercial and technical management course. It will train you for the professional role of construction project manager. The course is fully accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Why choose this course?

With a set of project management knowledge and skills, a project manager usually is a high level management role within a large construction or development project, who has to insure a construction project effectively and efficiently being procured, designed and contracted through a proper tendering process, and successfully being delivered safely, on time, within budget.

This course will enable you to develop an insight into various construction project management methods and techniques required for successful construction project and site management.

These include the knowledge and skills of:

  • procurement and tendering method and process management
  • project and resource management
  • contract administration and risk management
  • CAD and BIM
  • building technology
  • building regulations and construction law.

The course also emphasises the knowledge and skills of sustainable development and construction.

Career and study progression
There are many opportunities open to you upon graduation, and most graduates go on to senior roles within the construction industry.

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • 112-120 UCAS tariff points or equivalent qualifications at Level 3
  • GCSE Maths and English.

This course particularly welcomes applicants with the following qualifications:

  • Progression or Advanced Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Progression or Advanced Diploma in Engineering
  • courses in a related subject area such as National Certificate/Diploma in Construction/Civil Engineering/Engineering.

International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).
