Course summary

Overview
This is a vocationally attuned technical and practical course which will enable you to develop a professional career in building surveying in property development and construction industry.

Why choose this course?
This course covers a broad range of appropriate modules and the intellectual and practical skills in observation and analysis of building. The skills you will gain are transferable to other surveying roles within the Built Environment.

Through your studies you will learn to appreciate the multidisciplinary nature of the built environment. You will gain valuable skills and a broad understanding of:

  • building measurement and condition surveying
  • building pathology
  • construction law
  • procurement
  • CAD and BIM
  • maintenance management]
  • building technologies
  • regulations.

We also reinforce the attainment of sustainable design, construction, management and operation. We are currently in the process of applying for the accreditation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Career and study progression
After successfully completing this course, you will be eligible for a career in property development and construction industry - as a surveyor or in management and operations.

Funding

Help with funding is available to a range of students, whether you are studying full or part-time, in your home country or overseas.

You may be eligible for a student loan to cover the cost of tuition fees or a maintenance loan to support you during your studies.   • Full Time Undergraduate Bursary: a £3,000 award for new undergraduate students.
  • Path to Success Scholarship: a £4,000 award for students on a four-year degree course with a foundation year.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Fees may be subject to government regulations on fee increases. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases.

72 UCAS tariff points or equivalent qualifications at Level 3 and Level 2 Maths and English.International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).
