About Summer Programme In History, Politics And Society , MA - at Department for Continuing Education, University of Oxford

The Summer Programme in History, Politics & Society provides insight into issues and events that have shaped the contemporary world. The programme is designed to combine detailed analysis with a broad overview, and consists of study in small seminar groups with a specialist tutor; and a more general daily lecture programme given by leading scholars and distinguished speakers.

Participants normally take two courses. Each course consists of seminars which meet twice a week for two hours. Classes are kept small, and will usually contain no more than 12 participants. In addition to taking part in the seminars, participants attend the daily plenary lectures.

Intending applicants should bear in mind that this is an intensive programme of study taught at Masters level to an informed international audience, and should be confident that they are academically and linguistically prepared for such a programme.

The programme is suitable for graduate students, teachers in high schools and colleges, and for other professionals with a serious interest in study at university level.

The programme will be accommodated and taught in Exeter College. Founded in 1314, Exeter is one of the University's oldest colleges and is situated in the heart of Oxford.
