About Chemistry with a Year in Industry, MSci - at University of Nottingham

Chemistry contributes directly to our everyday lives, from the food we eat and the medicines we take, to the environment in which we live.

You'll be taught by academic staff who will feed your curiosity for chemistry. You may even recognise some of our staff from the popular Periodic Videos YouTube channel.

On this undergraduate masters course, you'll have the opportunity of an assessed year spent in a research laboratory of a major chemical company in year three. You will be a paid employee and will work on a research project. In addition you will complete three distance learning theory modules. Recent destinations for placement students have included Actelion, AstraZeneca, BP, GlaxoSmithKline, Lubrizol and Sygnature.

Entry requirements

  • AAA-AAB at A level including chemistry at grade A
  • GCSE Mathematics at grade 4 (C) (or equivalent)
  • GCSE English at 4 (C) or above
