About Chemistry with a Year in Industry at University of Nottingham

The School of Chemistry at the University of Nottingham is one of the leading chemistry departments in the UK, with a reputation for world-class research and excellent teaching. With over 40 academic staff, our research interests are wide-ranging, from the traditional core of physical, organic and inorganic chemistry to the interfaces with biology, engineering, nanotechnology, materials science, physics and astronomy. In recognition of the international standing of much of our research, the School was rated grade 5A at the last RAE. Each year around 130 students graduate from our broad portfolio of three- and four-year degree courses, and some 50 postgraduate researchers are awarded a PhD. The quality of our teaching was recognized by an "excellent" rating, during the last Teaching Quality Assessment.
