About Translation Studies at University of Nottingham

We offer research degree supervision in all areas of Translation Studies, including historical linguistics and translation studies from the 18th century to the present. Particular research strengths include audio-visual translation, translation theory, translation of literary and philosophical texts, translation between Asian (esp. Chinese) and Western contexts, post-colonial translation and intercultural competences. We can offer expert supervision for projects involving English and the following languages: French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Slovene, Dutch.
