Facilities exist within the Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging, University of Alberta, for students who wish to obtain either a Master of Science or a PhD degree.
Research may be carried out in medical imaging, radiological and health physics, or radiation biology and biophysics.
The Department of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging participates with other departments of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in offering these interdisciplinary programs in medical sciences. The Department's minimum admission requirements are an undergraduate degree with an admission GPA of at least 3.0 on the 4-point scale from the University of Alberta, or an equivalent qualification and standing from a recognized institution. The admission GPA will be calculated on the last *60 of graded coursework completed, or on the equivalent of the last two years of full-time graded coursework.
Applicants must have graduated in medicine for the clinical research areas, or in the appropriate scientific disciplines for the other research areas.
Where applicable, applicants must provide proof of English Language Proficiency (refer to English Language Requirement). Any one of the following is acceptable:
