- apply economic principles to educational planning issues
- critique the ways in which economic analysis and evidence are applied to education policy issues
- understand the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches to educational planning
- analyse an educational planning problem in the context of the national economy and its development.

- make a study visit to Paris (not included in the course fee) incorporating UNESCO and the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP).

Entry requirementsA good first degree or equivalent and, normally, appropriate experience in a low- or middle-income country.
