Programme Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this programme, students should be able to:

  • Manage issues related to an organizational environment and apply conceptual principles, methods and tools to solve financial problems.
  • Identify the increasing complex nature of local and global economy and its impact on finance.
  • Recommend streamlined financial and business processes and procedures to meet challenges and excel under intense competition.
  • Apply the standard analytic tools of applied financial analysis.
  • Analyze, evaluate, interpret and present materials in the areas of finance.
  • Identify the underlying ideas of the business environment and associate them with specific knowledge in the areas of finance.
  • Appreciate the importance of adopting an ethical approach in the management of corporate practices.
  • Critically assess data and analyze and interpret findings to make informed decisions.
  • Identify and apply suitable research and business simulation tools. 
  • Demonstrate negotiation and conflict resolution skills for re-enforcing value added collaborations.
  • Apply the four functions of management to streamline business processes.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities to safeguard and / or increase competitive advantage.
  • Demonstrate competences for optimal decision-making.

Entry requirements

The general admission requirements for entry to Unicaf University Malawi bachelor degree programmes are as outlined below.  Students are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to find out more about the range of equivalent international academic qualifications accepted.

  • Regular admission to a Bachelor degree programme requires the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with 6 passes, grades 1-4.
  • Applicants with 6 passes in the Malawi School Certificate of Education, grades 1-6, with at least 2 years postgraduate, relevant experience may be considered for entry.  
  • Applicants with a Diploma or Advanced Diploma may be considered for entry.
  • Applicants with a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant area may be considered for credit transfer.
  • English proficiency; grade 6 or better on the Malawi School Certificate of Education or equivalent
  • Current CV
  • Copy of valid passport or national ID
