About Business Studies and a Language (French, German or Russian), Miscellaneous Award - at Trinity College Dublin
The School, in conjunction with relevant language departments and the Centre for Language and Communication Studies of the Faculty of Arts (Letters), offers five BBS and Language degrees which involve the integrated study of business with one language (either French, German or Russian) throughout all four years of the programme. The third year is spent abroad in a French, German or Russian speaking university. In the final year, a dissertation concerning issues in management, industry or organisation must be presented in the relevant language.
BBS and language students take the majority of their business courses in common with students pursuing the BBS programme, but there's a progressive focus on the language area. BBS (Lang) students can choose from the full range of business subjects, including courses in Finance, Marketing, Nonprofit Organisation Management, Human Resources Management and others.
BBS (Lang) students should consult the Handbooks and other materials issued by the relevant language departments or the CLCS, for details concerning course content, teaching arrangements and assessment/examination procedures. In particular, students should note that the Non-Satisfactory (N/S) system operates for all language instruction.
