About Internet and Business Technologies (top up), BSc (Hons) - at Sheffield Hallam University

This course is for people who already have an appropriate HND or foundation degree in an IT or computing-related area. You can use this course to gain an honours degree through one year of full-time study. The focus of this course is advanced database design and development, and innovative uses of web technology. You develop the knowledge and skills that you have already gained, and expand on a range of computing themes. You develop your technical IT skills, an awareness of professional issues and the interpersonal skills you need to become an effective computing professional. The year involves a dissertation and practical experience in a range of subjects. Lectures and practical sessions take place at our City Campus where we have specialist computing laboratories as well as the library and multimedia resources available in the learning centre. If you have successfully completed our FdSc Internet and Business Technologieshttp://prospectus.shu.ac.uk/CourseEntry.cfm?CourseId=777 or similar HND/FdSc, you may be able to progress to this degree.You gain up-to-date skills in industry standard database and web systems and learn about modern approaches to business intelligence and entrepreneurial skills.
