About Intellectual Property, Data and Information Law, MSc - at Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London

The MSc in Intellectual Property, Data and Information Law is a programme designed for non law graduates who wish to acquire legal knowledge in areas relevant to the creative industries, including the data and computer industries but also sectors such as music, publishing or film. All students take compulsory modules in the core IP disciplines (copyright and designs law; patent law). In addition, students will have much flexibility to select a range of modules.

  • Internationally recognised staff who are advisers to international organisations such as the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), the European Patent Office (EPO), the UK Intellectual Property Office (IPO) and the European Commission
  • Opportunity to gain a 12-month paid traineeship at the OHIM or EPO under the Pan-European Seal Professional Traineeship programme
  • Be a part of Queen Mary Intellectual Property Research Institute (QMIPRI), which runs regular research discussions, seminars and annual events
  • Study at one of the top 10 law schools in the UK for the quality of our research and teaching (REF 2014)

Intellectual Property Law is an interdisciplinary field comprised of law, engineering, medical science, economics, and other fields. This MSc explores the foundations of intellectual property law with relation to patents, trademarks, agricultural and medical biotechnology, copyright and more.
