Professional accreditations
At BNU we want you to become workplace ready. Our BA (Hons) Marketing and Media Communications is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), a leading industry body recognised by employers across the world. Not only will you graduate with a full undergraduate degree, you'll also be part way to an additional qualification from the CIM.
Many of your course modules will also include the opportunity to gain an additional certificate of some kind, from organisations including HubSpot and Google.
Industry insight
Our industry-experienced academics have specifically designed our courses to reflect the leading industry practices, along with established and newly emerging thinking in this dynamic sector. They work hard to ensure that you can develop your interests and abilities.
We will help you develop the marketing expertise needed to succeed in the rapidly changing world of business. From developing a ‘tool kit’ of knowledge, experience and skills to working as a strategic level ‘executive’ in your final year, we have designed our course to allow you to graduate ready to enter the workplace.
Class trips
Take your learning beyond the classroom on our class trips to local organisations and businesses, including the Chartered Institute of Marketing headquarters, located just a short distance from our High Wycombe campus. These visits allow you to hear from experts in their specialist topic, and to gain additional perspective of how elements of marketing fit together and into wider business operations.
Choose your specialism
Buckinghamshire New University gives you the opportunity to choose your specialism for your future career after your experience of the core curriculum in year one. Rather than having to make your big decision before you join us, we introduce you to various specialisms and offer you the flexibility to choose the specialism which leads to your chosen career area. You can choose between BA (Hons) Marketing and Media Communications or BA (Hons) Marketing.
These specialisms are also offered as four-year programmes, including an initial Foundation Year. The Foundation Year will allow you to develop your academic study skills and build confidence in your abilities, identifying your own strengths and development needs for progression onto an undergraduate programme.
Regular skill-boosting sessions
Following student feedback, students on our Marketing courses can attend regular skill-boosting 'boot camp' sessions to improve practical marketing skills such as website development, blog writing, and email marketing.
