About Data Science & Analytics at Bournemouth University

In commercial organisations data analysis is emerging as one of the key competitive dimensions. This new course will produce highly skilled and focussed graduates with data science and advanced analytics expertise.

Data analysis is increasingly important to businesses, many of which hold a vast amount of information that they fail to utilise effectively. Graduates with data science and advanced analytics expertise are in high demand, which is why our specialist course teaches you about the tools available for data analysis and how to interpret data to benefit the organisation. You will graduate with a working knowledge of major state-of-the-art techniques for intelligent data analysis, enabling you to effortlessly apply them to real-world problems in order to gain insight into business, scientific and other kinds of data. You will also be adept at using latest Big Data tools and technologies (e.g. Hadoop, noSQL databases), which are standard in the industry.

Entry requirements

For September 2019 and September 2020 entry: The entry requirements for this course are 104 - 120 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DMM. We will consider all subjects but not accept General Studies.

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each of the 4 components, or equivalent.
