Study a Medieval Studies degree abroad in 2025

Take a look at how medieval history informs the contemporary world.

A bachelor's degree in medieval studies will take the passion you have for history and develop it to a deeper level. Usually taking 3-4 years to complete when studied full-time, a medieval studies degree allows you to study core subjects such as history and archaeology, as well as options to delve into specific historic time periods.

Choosing to study abroad as an international student allows you to build your skills both inside and outside of the classroom. You will be surrounded by people from all over the world, exposing you to a range of cultures and broadening your horizons.

Admission Requirements

Entry to a bachelor degree in medieval studies normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. Some universities might prefer that you have previously studied certain subjects, such as history. For programs taught in English, you will have to provide evidence of your language proficiency, if it is not your first language. This can be done through tests such as IELTS or TOEFL.

Tuition Fees

As an international student, you will find that tuition fees will vary depending on where you choose to study. There may be financial assistance available, such as scholarships and grants, which will help with the costs of studying abroad.

Careers

Medieval studies graduates will have options to either pursue a job in the history or heritage sector, or take on further studies. Job roles you explore could include archaeology, education, and museum or heritage, among others.
