Course summary
This flexible, part-time course has been designed for healthcare practitioners who have recently qualified or are working in a new area of practice and wish to enhance their clinical skills and knowledge.
You can opt for a generic award in professional practice or have the focus of your studies recognised through a badged award in one of the following areas:
The first module (maximum of 20 academic credits) can be studied at Level 6. This will help promote your confidence if you've had a break in your studies, since qualifying/commencing work and it will help support the further development of your critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis skills, preparing you to undertake Level 7 study.
The course is made up entirely of option modules - you choose modules relevant to your area of clinical practice/CPPD needs. There is a wide and exciting range to select from.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Fees may be subject to government regulations on fee increases. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases.
Entry requirements
You will:
- be a Health/Social Care Practitioner who holds current registration with their professional body in the UK (where this is a requirement for the profession).
- hold a degree in a professional health/social care related subject*
- be working in a relevant health/social care environment in order that you can meet the learning outcomes of the course**
*If you hold an Advanced Diploma in healthcare related field e.g. Nursing, you can access this course by completing a portfolio. This means you wouldn't have to 'top-up' to a degree first. We can explain more about this if you would like to know more.
** If you are wishing to work towards a badged award, you must be working in that specific area of practice/health/social care provision. You will be asked to confirm this when you apply.
