About Psychology Research Methods, MSc - at University of Nottingham

Psychology is a broad and fast-changing field. To conduct groundbreaking research, you need to be familiar with the latest methods.

The course will help you:

  • understand and critically assess qualitative and quantitative psychological research methods, and various types of data
  • develop skills in literature search and reviewing
  • acquire professional skills for advanced research in the academic, public and private sectors

You will learn from leading academics who are shaping the world through their work. Our research has led to greater understanding of conditions like autism, Parkinson's disease and brain tumours.

  • Computational Neuroscience
  • Human Development and Learning
  • Perception and Action
  • Personality, Social Psychology and Health
  • Visual Neuroscience

The strength of this MSc is the range of optional modules on offer from Psychology and Medicine and Health Sciences. You will also conduct an independent research project.

Entry requirements

2:1 (or international equivalent). Students must have experience or a background in research methods or statistics, and ideally a background in psychology or a related discipline such as neuroscience or social sciences

IELTS: 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each element.
