About Physics with Astronomy, MSci - at University of Nottingham

We're home to Nobel Prize-winning research and the popular Sixty Symbols YouTube channel. Join us if you are curious about how our world and universe work.

Conduct astronomical research by gathering data from our rooftop facilities and telescopes. You will also analyse data gathered by our academics using international facilities around the world and in space.

Tailored modules such as Cosmology and Extreme Astrophysics will give you a specialist understanding of astronomy. You will also study the core physics modules to give you a deeper knowledge of this exciting subject.

We have a proud heritage of innovative and cutting-edge research. We're ranked joint third of all physics departments in the UK for ‘research power’ (Research Excellence Framework 2014).

You will gain a wide range of skills in image processing and data analysis. This opens many career paths, from astronomical research to careers in the industrial and financial sectors.
