Choosing the Business Administration degree that is right for you!

The University of New York in Prague offers American and European bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, with the unique opportunity to receive dual degrees from the State University of New York, Empire State University, and a Czech-accredited UNYP degree (bakalář, Bc.). All UNYP programs are taught entirely in English.

Whether you study for a European, American or dual degree, all UNYP bachelor’s business degree programs offer:

  • complementary coursework that strengthens, enhances, and expands your core business learning
  • an enhanced ability to think theoretically and analytically about contemporary issues in the global economy
  • advanced oral and written communication skills in English
  • proficiency in using software applications and information technology for research
  • the ability to work collaboratively in teams and in a multicultural setting

Dual Degree Option

Students in an American bachelor’s degree program that choose to major in Business Administration, Communication & Media, International Relations, or Psychology have the option of sitting the Czech state exams upon completion of their program. Successful candidates are then awarded dual degrees consisting of both an American degree from the State University of New York, Empire State University and a European degree from UNYP.

American Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

The primary aim of the four-year American Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program is to enable you to advance your career in the world of business by providing a general overview of business management topics suitable to a wide range of career paths. This degree is awarded by State University of New York, Empire State University accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the main academic accreditation body for American colleges and universities located in the Middle States region.

Our approach places a great deal of emphasis on international aspects of commerce, which we believe are particularly important in today's business environment. With our multinational faculty and student body, UNYP is in an especially strong position to provide this valuable international perspective. Unique to our program is the interactive and dynamic teaching style of our faculty. We recruit our professors from the EU and the USA, and most of them hold advanced degrees and professional experience in their fields of teaching. The theoretical and practical knowledge that you acquire in our program will provide you with a wide range of career options, in terms of both professional and geographical areas. The program also serves as a strong grounding for a career in the public sector, civil society, or academia.

European Bachelor of Business Administration (bakalář, Bc.)

This three-year study program leads to the award of a European bachelor’s degree (bakalář, Bc.) in Business Administration awarded by UNYP and accredited by the American International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The UNYP European BBA course is designed to provide a comprehensive education in multiple aspects of international business (marketing, management, finance, accounting, economics, and law). The BBA course is aimed at high school graduates wishing to pursue a bachelor’s degree in an international environment, and is intended to suit a wide range of career paths. VOŠ graduates and holders of similar qualifications (e.g. a British HND or an American associate's degree) may be eligible for advanced standing.

The course structure available to students in this European Business Administration Program reflects the requirement for specialist knowledge in today's job market.

In the European program you can choose between four distinct concentrations:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Sports Management

Entry requirements

1. UNYP application form

2. Notarized copy of the High School Diploma and Transcripts (for international students nostrified copy - diploma from a foreign High School must be granted recognition in the Czech Republic). If not yet received, the diploma can be submitted before the program starts.

3. English language certificate - submit one of the following scores or alternatively sit the UNYP institutional English language test which is every week at UNYP, you must sign up in advance:

  • UNYP institutional English language test with a score of 72 or above.
  • TOEFL internet based test (ibt) with a score of 72 or above.
  • IELTS Academic 6.0 or above.
  • FCE A, B.
  • CAE A, B, C.
  • CPE A, B, C.
  • City & Guilds ESOL (IESOL) (Reading, Writing, and Listening) Expert C1, Mastery C2.
  • Czech or Slovak State Exam in English.
  • Czech or Slovak Maturita English Leaving Exam with score 1.
  • International Baccalaureate Higher Level (HL): score of 4 in English (as Language A or B)
  • International Baccalaureate Standard Level (SL): score of 5 in English (as Language A or B)
  • SAT Reasoning Test, Writing section: Score of 560 or higher.
  • European Baccalaureate: score of 70% in English.
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exam in English Language and Composition, or English Literature and Composition: Score of 3 or above.
  • IGCSE English or O Level English with a Grade of C or above.

4. Motivation letter (max. 400 words)

5. Recommendation letter - preferably from a professor who can address the candidate’s ability and motivation for enrolling in this program. Form will be delivered to you after the application.

6. Copy of ID or Passport

7. Application Fee of 2,000 CZK (non-refundable) ≅ 80 EUR

8. Motivation interview - after submitting the required documents applicants are invited for an interview with the relevant Head of Department (in person or by video call)
