About International Foundation Year - Joint Honours Route, International Foundation Year - at University of Leeds

The International Foundation Year - Joint Honours Route fully prepares international students for entry onto a wide range of Joint Honours undergraduate degree programmes.

It may suit you if you are an international student with the potential and motivation to succeed, but currently without the formal qualifications for entry to one of our undergraduate degree programmes.

Our International Foundation Year - Joint Honours Route guarantees all students who pass with the required grades, progression onto a range of Joint Honours degree programmes at the University.

  • Course content

    This International Foundation Year - Joint Honours Route is a one-year (level 0) programme taught at National Qualification Framework (NQF) level 3. The International Foundation Year - Joint Honours Route provides a firm grounding in the subjects required for the students' intended undergraduate degree programmes. Those who successfully complete the International Foundation Year by achieving specific grades are admitted to level 1 of one of a wide range of joint honours undergraduate degree programmes offered by the University.     Course structure

    The course is a 9-month, 3-term programme. It runs from September to mid-June of the next year. You will study academic study skills as well as subject specific content. Subject specific modules are taught by Leeds University academic staff and tailored to your chosen degree, so you can be sure that you are fully prepared to start your degree programme.

      International

      For entry to programmes below degree level we are only able to accept English Language qualifications which are listed as UKVI approved SELT's and taken in approved test centres.

      English language requirements

      IELTS 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.0 in each component. For entry to programmes below degree level we can only accept English Language qualifications which are UKVI approved SELTs (Secure English Language Tests) and taken in approved test centres.
