About Business and Financial Economics, MSc, PG Dip - at University of Greenwich

Internationalisation of the world economy and the policy challenges it has posed forbusiness and public decision-makers have increased the demand for economicsgraduates. This demand is evident in a wide range of national and internationalinstitutions, including central banks and finance ministries, commercial and investmentbanks, rating agencies, and business organisations. Opportunities are also available ininternational governmental and non-governmental organisations, central and localgovernment departments, and economics and business media.

These employers reflect an ever-increasing demand for high-quality, evidence-baseddecision making that requires competence in applied economics and state-of-the-artdata analysis.

This programme will enable you to respond to this increasing demand by combiningsolid training in theory and method with stimulating exposure to economics andfinancial data sources. The programme weaves a three-way linkage between businessand financial economics theory, data analysis, and application of theory and method topolicy and strategy issues in the world of business and finance.

The programme has a number of distinctive features. These include structured conversion, which will enable you to combine theory and evidence to produce evidence-based work, and rigorous application, enabling you to combine theory andevidence to develop evidence-based answers to economic and business issues. Youwill also become competent in data access and analysis, enabling you to access,manage and analyse data on a wide range of economic and business issues. A workplacement will give you the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills and preparefor work as a professional economist.
