About Tourism Management, BA (Hons) - at University of Greenwich

The tourism industry has become one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the world. In Britain, tourism employs around 2.6 million people and supports more than 200,000 small and medium-sized businesses. This programme has been developed to meet the demand for successful entrepreneurs and managers in tourism.

It will provide you with a critical understanding of tourism management and the global tourism marketplace, and will give you the ability and confidence to creatively solve management problems in the industry. You will learn to apply sustainable principles to the development of tourism and gain skills and knowledge in areas such as tourism marketing, human resource management, innovation, product development and destination planning.

You will also gain practical insight from industry case studies and UK and international visits. You will also have the option to undertake a work placement in your third year.

Employability

You will connect with employers through our dedicated Business School Employability Team who focus on developing your employment skills. They also provide you with CV support and will invite you to employment fairs to network with employers and recruiters from industries. The team was shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.

We are actively improving job prospects for graduates through the support we provide. According to survey findings, 93 per cent of 2014/15 Greenwich graduates looking for work were already in jobs or further study by January 2016.
