About International Commercial Law and Practice, LLM - at University of Edinburgh

With 25 modules to choose from you can choose a programme of study that best reflect your interests, professional experience and industry focus.

Introduction
The LLM in International Commercial Law and Practice will enable you to develop a practical understanding of the legal issues surrounding specific industries, markets and commercial relationships. It will also facilitate a broader and more generic understanding of underlying themes, such as harmonisation, regulation and compliance.

It will be of benefit to lawyers in practice dealing with international issues, and also to in-house lawyers and other professionals working in international commerce who are confronted by international legal issues and who wish to deepen their legal knowledge.

Programme overview
The LLM in International Commercial Law and Practice is truly international in scope and is both academically rigorous and practical in focus. The programme offers a wide range of industry focused modules, and spans the following areas of commercial law:

  • Oil and gas law
  • International tax law
  • International sales law and commodities
  • Dispute resolution
  • International commercial arbitration
  • Contract law
