Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is home to nearly 36,000 enrolled students. QUT is focused on providing its students with practical skills and real-world experience as part of their course programmes, and this allows international students to comfortably secure high-quality employment after graduation. More than 7,000 international students pursue programmes at QUT, which calls itself 'the university for the real world'. 

Although QUT was officially established in 1989, its origin can be traced back to the founding of the Brisbane School of Arts in 1849 and the Brisbane Technical College in 1882. Located in the coastal city of Brisbane in Queensland, QUT is spread across two campuses in the city - Gardens Point and Kelvin Grove. 

QUT has an especially strong research program in subjects such as engineering and media studies, and was ranked as “world-class standard or above” in 21 disciplines by the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) report in 2018. 

Aside from being well-respected for its research quality, QUT is ranked #1 in Australia for the strength of its Media & Communications programmes by QS World, as well as for the university’s triple-crown accredited Business School which is ranked in the top 1% worldwide. 

QUT offers over 400 courses to international students across five faculties:
