Small craft are specialist marine products, like hydrofoiling racing yachts, eco-friendly fishing vessels and high-tech lifeboats.

They form a significant proportion of the UK marine industry and often have to perform in the most demanding environments.

This degree equips you with the specialist knowledge to design the latest boats, using advanced technologies.

After learning the fundamentals of marine technology in your first two years, you'll move on to specialist modules in:

  • small craft design
  • marine structures
  • small craft hydrodynamics

The degree responds to the fast growth in this industry and encompasses naval architecture, marine dynamics, propulsion and materials science.
