Philosophy with Economics BA
The Philosophy with Economics BA will enable you to analyse the world with clarity, precision and rigour. You'll engage with central questions, arguments and theories concerning our place in the world and what our actions ought to be. In the Economics minor, you'll study how people act, and how we can influence them to act otherwise. You'll learn about all the factors that dictate the real events and decisions that are taking place in the world today, as well as developing the quantitative skills needed to engage with the subject as commonly practised.
Teaching & learning
You will experience an average of over 13 high-quality contact hours with academics per week, typically consisting of:
- 6 hours of degree lectures
- 1-hour one-to-one tutorial
- 1-hour small group tutorial
- 1.5 hours LAUNCH seminar
- 2 hours NCH Diploma lectures
- 1.5 hours professorial lectures
Timetables
Timetables are usually made available to students during Freshers' Week. Teaching can be scheduled to take place during any day of the week. However, when possible, Wednesday afternoons are usually reserved for sports and cultural activities.
