Founded in 1958, Monash University is Australia’s largest university with over 60,000 enrolled students. Monash University is home to a sizable international student community with nearly 25,000 students from over 170 countries. 

International students at the university have a wide range of over 6,000 course programmes to choose from, and can create flexible degree options based on their specific subject preferences. Monash University’s primary campus is located in Clayton, 20 miles south of central Melbourne. The university operates three additional campuses across the Melbourne area, and maintains partnerships for joint course offerings with over 100 world-class universities in countries including Malaysia, Italy, India and China. 

Monash is especially focused on providing world-class research facilities and faculty support to international students, and various research institutes currently specialise in nearly 150 active fields of research. Monash University’s current research focus includes aspects such as geopolitical security, climate change and solving community-based health issues. 

The university is also a member of the Group of Eight (Go8), a group of prestigious Australian universities with a shared focus on providing world-class faculty and research facilities to improve academic standards across Australian university education.
