The global hospitality industry needs managers with strong practical skills, hands-on experience and excellent leadership and strategic management capability.
This degree offers you an opportunity to develop your leadership potential, experience and attain practical industry skills and build the knowledge and expertise necessary to manage and succeed in Hospitality businesses and facilities globally.
You will use current industry software (such as Opera), experience work integrated learning in our restaurant, and even run real, live events! Your journey through this degree culminates in Capstone subjects 1 & 2 where exploration, investigation and problem solving will be applied to actual current industry issues.
As a domestic/local student, you may be eligible for a Victorian Government subsidy. Check with the institution if you want more information about this.
Melbourne Polytechnic minimum academic level differs depending on the course. Most certificate and diploma level courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or 12, bachelor degree courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 12, and master degree courses require evidence of completion to studies AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent.
If you do not meet Melbourne Polytechnic’s academic entry-level requirements but have acquired skills or knowledge relevant to your chosen course, you may apply as a mature age student. A mature age student is considered to be over 18 years old, and has been out of full-time education for at least one year.
