The School of Business, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Melbourne Polytechnic is committed to delivering quality academic programs that develop capabilities for students to thrive in a rapidly changing world. The Bachelor of Accounting and Associate Degree of Accounting program, currently offered by the School, is designed for students aiming to work successfully in the world of accounting, locally and globally. The School has developed a strong capability and achieved significant success in the delivery of an undergraduate accounting program over the past decade. The School is committed to maintaining the accounting discipline to meet the demand for accountancy graduates in both the Australian and global employment markets.
The Bachelor of Accounting course will prepare graduates with core accounting and business discipline knowledge and skills. Complementary knowledge of management subjects, such as management and marketing, organisational behaviour and human resource management will be available should students choose from the selection of business based elective subjects.

Melbourne Polytechnic minimum academic level differs depending on the course. Most certificate and diploma level courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or 12, bachelor degree courses require evidence of completion to studies equivalent to Australian Year 12, and master degree courses require evidence of completion to studies AQF (Australian) Bachelor degree or overseas equivalent.
If you do not meet Melbourne Polytechnic’s academic entry-level requirements but have acquired skills or knowledge relevant to your chosen course, you may apply as a mature age student. A mature age student is considered to be over 18 years old, and has been out of full-time education for at least one year.
