Throughout the degree, you will learn how to evaluate financial issues and improve the practice of finance within business. There is a strong emphasis on practical skills too, with a year-long skills-based module helping you develop the professional tools needed to communicate, present and work confidently from day one of your career.
In semester one, you will gain a solid understanding of the field exploring areas such as corporate finance, quantitative methods and global markets.
You will then specialise further with modules including portfolio management, derivatives and behavioural finance. During the summer, you can choose optional modules to focus on global investment analysis and applied corporate finance, or prepare for ethically focused roles by taking corporate governance and sustainable finance modules.

During the programme, you will use LSEG Workspace in various modules, applying the concepts you have learned to get to grips with the system and develop your confidence in using it efficiently. You will use this for individual and group assessments and you will have 24/7 remote access.
You can also work towards the certificate of competency in LSEG Workspace, awarded by the London Stock Exchange Group, as well as other external qualifications.

A 2:2 honours degree with a minimum of 55% or equivalent international qualification. It is helpful, but not essential, to have studied a subject with a quantitative element such as business, accounting, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering, chemistry, geography, computer science or data analytics. We will consider applicants who have taken subjects that do not have a quantitative element but ask them to do some pre-course reading before the start of the programme. No prior finance study is required. Applicants with relevant professional experience or professional qualifications would be welcomed.
