About Midwifery with Registered Midwife, MMid - at Kingston University London

Studying Midwifery with Registered Midwife at Kingston will deepen your expertise and open doors to a rewarding career with life-enhancing impact.

During this course, you’ll build a scientific knowledge base for midwifery practice. You’ll work with midwives to care for women and birthing people and their families through pregnancy, birth and beyond.

On this course, you’ll spend 50% of your time developing practical skills – whether on placement in hospitals and the community, or in our award-winning simulation suites.

Teaching will come from experienced midwives, healthcare specialists and wider NHS experts, who’ll help you deepen your knowledge through a wide range of subjects.

You’ll even receive a £5,000 per year, non-repayable NHS Training Grant to support your studies. Check out the NHS Business Service Authority website to find out more.

When you graduate, you’ll be fully qualified as a midwife. Midwifery is a highly attractive career, which means good financial rewards and excellent employment prospects, both in the UK and overseas.

Entry requirements

The typical offer for this course is a degree at 2.2 or above. We prefer health or science related subjects.

You’ll also need GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English and mathematics. We accept equivalent qualifications, such as Functional/Key skills Level 2 in numeracy and literacy.

Admission is subject to occupational health screening and an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, including checks against the Adult and Child Workforce Barring Lists.

If your initial application is successful, we’ll invite you to an online interview. This will include a series of short value-based questions, tasks or scenarios.
