About Music, MA, Master, Master Degree, European Masters - at Fontys Fine and Performing Arts

The Master of Music at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in Tilburg, the Netherlands, is an advanced degree programme for highly gifted musicians who seek a career as a professional performer on the international concert stage. The unique dimension of the Master of Music at Fontys is the personalized component: students receive a two-year scholarship and can tailor the program in accordance with the needs of their emerging career. Students may use their scholarship for taking courses with professors at Fontys and even with external professors and artists.

You will be supervised by your main professor, our personal career coach, and a research coach. As a Master of Music student at Fontys you receive a two-year personal education budget. The personal budget amount depends on your specialization. In the academic year 2019-2020 the personal budget ranged from €3000 to €4000 per year for students in their first and second year of study. You can use your personal budget to personalize the curriculum in accordance to your artistic and professional needs. Students who wish to take lessons with artists who teach outside Fontys may use this budget to do so, even when the artist is based in another country. The school maintains strong connections with local concert halls and venues. Therefore, as a student you will have several performance opportunities in the region.
