The Graduate Study is organized by the Department of Physical and Macromolecular Chemistry in cooperation with the Prague Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry. The Study Program has been prepared by experts from the Faculty of Science, Academy of Sciences and the Prague Institute of Chemical Technology. It covers all fields of Macromolecular Chemistry (including Biopolymer Chemistry and Physical Chemistry of Polymers) and some disciplines of Polymer Physics. The up-to-date topics that may be studied experimentally at the Department include, e.g., (a) synthesis of polymers and studies in polymerization kinetics (e.g., synthesis of semiconducting substituted polyacethylens), (b) association processes in polymer systems (e.g., micellization of block polyelectrolytes in aqueous solutions), (c) mechanical degradation and biodegradation processes in polymer systems, and (d) properties of semiconducting polymer materials. Theoretical studies in (a) statistical thermodynamics of polymers and (b) Monte Carlo computer simulations of chain conformations in supramolecular structures are available for theoretically oriented students.

This text facilitates quick navigation of the various types of scholarships but does not provide a full list of rules and policies regulating this field. The granting and payments of scholarships is governed primarily by the Scholarships and Bursaries Rules of Charles University (cuni.cz/UKEN-727.html), the Rules for Granting Scholarships at FSc, and the relevant measures issued by the Dean (natur.cuni.cz/fakulta/studium/bc-nmgr/predpisy-a-poplatky/stipendia; Czech only).
Students may obtain the following scholarships:
Certain scholarships are granted to students automatically (without student applications), whereas others are granted further to an application (electronic or paper, depending on the type of scholarship). Bursaries are neither taxed nor included in stated income. You can find answers to frequently asked questions regarding scholarships on the Faculty website (natur.cuni.cz/fakulta/studium/helpdesk/faq-stipendia; Czech only).
