Michelle - MSc in Management - Grande Ecole

The program offers a complete range of core management and specialization courses for students from diverse backgrounds.

Parallel to my academic course, I have also acquired 18 months of work experience (a 6-month internship and a 12-month apprenticeship) in a French automotive company as a program controller, where I was able to acquire professional skills through a very practical experience. It was not always easy to find a balance between work and study, and to manage the stressful rhythm. The Employer Engagement Manager from the school at that time provided me with support and coaching, which was valuable for a young student, and I appreciated it very much.

As an emlyon business school student, I have also had the opportunity to participate in many different career and social events organized by emlyon, which helped me to build my first network in France as foreign student.

emlyon is an internationally renowned business school and one of its strengths is the employability of its graduates. For my part, I have got my first CDI job offer (permanent contract) in a well-known consulting firm before finishing my last year of studies through a career forum organized on the campus.

Pauline - MSc in International Hospitality Management student

Following a grounding in the areas of catering, wine and beverages, Pauline Mey saw an opportunity to create a niche in the hospitality market by setting up eco-responsible, technologically advanced hostels for clients from around the world seeking 3–4-star quality of service at a price that’s right. Duly equipped with the emlyon business school and Institut Lyfe (formerly Institut Paul Bocuse) MSc in International Hospitality Management, she successfully navigated a business launch that could have been blighted by the COVID-19 pandemic to make a real name for herself and her business venture “Beau M Hostel”.

Christophe, MSc in International Marketing & Business Development student

For Christopher Rehfus – a german student – a return to France to continue studying made perfect sense, following a highly successful Erasmus semester spent in Lyon and prior internship experience. He explains why he chose emlyon business school, the MSc in International Marketing & Business Development, and why conditions at the school are so conducive to learning and integrating smoothly into life on campus.

How would you describe the settling-in period at emlyon business school?

Christopher Rehfus : To be honest, it was pretty seamless and for two main reasons. Firstly, I had already spent time not only in France but specifically Lyon, studying and working. I very quickly got a taste for the French lifestyle and fell in love with the city, which is vibrant and cosmopolitan, so it was not before too long that I became a genuine Francophile. Secondly, emlyon proved truly welcoming from the outset. Every member of staff at emlyon is supportive and willing to connect with the new students, which creates a safe environment to start studies. The spirit of a diverse and dynamic surrounding with engaging professors made me curious to learn more for the year to come.
