The Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) is an evidence-based degree designed to provide you with the qualification needed to apply to enter the professional qualification, the Master of Clinical Chiropractic.

Graduation from the Master of Clinical Chiropractic course renders you eligible to apply for registration as a chiropractor in Australia and overseas.

During your studies, you will develop clinical skills to become confident in the diagnosis and management of patients presenting for care. You will learn the history, philosophy and principles and theories of chiropractic from a contemporary perspective.

The course has a strong focus on nutrition, rehabilitation and other lifestyle adaptations designed to optimize musculoskeletal health. Within a patient-centred learning environment, you will develop a range of patient assessment procedures and therapeutic approaches designed to manage common musculoskeletal issues.

Within a patient-centred learning environment, you will develop a range of spinal and patient assessment procedures and basic therapeutic approaches to common musculoskeletal issues such as low back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and headache.

Learn within Australia's newest state-of-the-art chiropractic learning environment and undertake work-integrated learning in clinics to further enhance your practical experience and employability so you graduate confident, competent and work-ready.

Innovative Course Structure

The 5 year CQUniversity study pathway to becoming a registered chiropractor in Australia involves a three year Bachelor of Science (Chiropractic) followed by a two year Master of Chiropractic Science. This innovative course structure combines undergraduate and postgraduate study reflecting the advanced learnings that you acquire as you progress in your chiropractic studies at CQUniversity and equips you with the skills to graduate work-ready for your chiropractic career.

Easily Accessible Locations

CQUniversity Chiropractic courses are available at our CBD locations in Brisbane, and Sydney. These campuses are located close to transport hubs and are easily accessible. The course is also available at our Mackay campus alongside other health courses.

Work Integrated Learning

CQUniversity's chiropractic course features work-integrated learning, which involves hands-on learning in our purpose-built chiropractic labs at all our locations. Students are also required to undertake clinical placements where they will spend time with a practising chiropractor to demonstrate a greater level of cognition and understanding of clinical practice.

Global Perspective

CQUniversity chiropractic courses are staffed by chiropractors who have practised in various locations across the world which provides graduates with a global perspective on chiropractic science and practice.

Entry requirements

English (4, SA)

If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion within the last 5 years of:

  • a secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
  • bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA of 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores as below:

  • an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 7.0 overall with a minimum 7.0 for Reading and Writing and 7.0 for Speaking and Listening, or
  • an Occupational English Test with grades A or B only in each of the four components.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

Each student will be assessed individually.
