The complexity and sophistication of modern engineering requires a multidisciplinary approach. Industry is therefore seeking engineers with broad knowledge and skilled in more than one of the traditional engineering disciplines.
The MEng (International) Integrated Engineering with a Year in Industry is a multidisciplinary degree built around electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineering, which aims to produce experts in the areas of manufacturing, mechatronics, computer-aided design, and renewable energy. Your broad knowledge of various aspects of engineering will ensure you can interact with engineers from all the traditional engineering disciplines in any multidisciplinary environment. You will also become familiar with the role of engineering within the business environment, as particular attention is paid to economics, management and law.
Choosing an MEng degree offers you a quicker, more direct route to Chartered Engineer status than the BEng. The final two years of the MEng degree look to expand and strengthen your knowledge. You will benefit from advanced learning in design and management and an appreciation of the techniques needed to manage and organise a multidisciplinary engineering design project.
An added advantage of this MEng Integrated Engineering (International) course is that one semester is spent studying engineering through the medium of English in a partner university overseas. They include universities in countries such as France, Germany, Italy, the USA, Australia, Canada and more.
This course includes the opportunity to take a year of industrial placement between your second and third years of academic study. With this option we will support you in finding a placement that will allow you to experience at first- hand, a professional working environment. If you are successful in securing a placement you will be paid a salary and will enhance your employability skills through direct experience of working in business, industry or the public sector.

Ellie, Journalism, UK, 2020
I chose Cardiff because it felt right. It was the first open day I attended and even on that first visit I just really liked the feel of the city, with it already feeling like home.
Thao, PhD in Business and Management, Vietnam, 2022
People are super friendly, and the city is affordable for students . . . There are also plenty of coffee shops and restaurants that you can hang out with your friends.
