Cardiff really is surrounded by some scenic gems. It’s in the middle of everything and is so well connected with transport links that you can get pretty much everywhere and anywhere you want.
For more information about Stand Alone Module (degree level) (January Start) at Cardiff University, please visit the webpage using the button above.
The aim of undertaking a standalone module is to help you meet the challenges of a rapidly changing health care environment and make a valuable contribution to patient care and clinical practice by developing your knowledge, deepen your understanding and enhance your skills. We offer several modules for registered nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals who would like to continue their professional development.
We are a leading provider of education for nursing, midwifery and allied health professionals. Containing a mix of contact sessions and self-directed learning, our undergraduate taught modules benefit from the input of researchers and clinicians who are working at the frontiers of knowledge in their areas of expertise.
The School of Healthcare Sciences has recently invested in new facilities and equipment, including a Clinical Simulation Suite, aiming to provide some of the best technology and modern facilities at the disposal of our students.
The School provides both pre-registration undergraduate nurse/midwifery education and post registration programmes validated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. There is also a wide range of other disciplines offering pre and post registration programmes recognised by the UK Health and Care Professions Council such as radiotherapy and oncology, occupational therapy, operating department practice, physiotherapy and diagnostic radiography and this contributes to a vibrant interdisciplinary environment, with opportunities for shared learning and inter-professional education not available at many institutions.

Ellie, Journalism, UK, 2020
I chose Cardiff because it felt right. It was the first open day I attended and even on that first visit I just really liked the feel of the city, with it already feeling like home.

People are super friendly, and the city is affordable for students . . . There are also plenty of coffee shops and restaurants that you can hang out with your friends.
