This programme will equip you with a thorough grounding in the theory, concepts, principles and techniques of the core subject areas of the discipline: macroeconomics, microeconomics and quantitative analysis. It aims to give you a firm foundation of knowledge of the workings of the UK economy and the ability to use that knowledge in a range of contexts.
It aims to interest you in the breadth and depth of economic analysis by offering you the opportunity across the three years of study to acquire knowledge and technique in a number of specialised areas. These include industrial economics, economic history, labour economics and international economics.
Economics is a numerate and increasingly mathematical subject and, consistent with other universities, some modules will have a quantitative element while others will be of a highly mathematical nature.
Our Economics with French degree will provide you with a thorough understanding of economic analysis and will stimulate you to value this analysis in understanding economic problems and a wider range of social and political issues. In your third year you will attend a University in France and will be taught and examined in French.
