About Law at Bournemouth University

Accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and the Bar Standards Board, this all-encompassing law degree course will encourage you to investigate areas of interest, as well as gaining as much experience as possible by attending court and undertaking work placements.

We know it’s difficult to decide which area of law you’d like to focus on when you’re just setting out on your training, which is why all of our law pathways share a common first year. This means that you don’t need to make any major decisions about which branch of law you’d like to specialise in until you’ve spent a year studying the subject area and have a better grasp of what each field entails.

We offer three stimulating law pathways, one of which is this compelling course, designed to give you a comprehensive education in the legal system.  As well as LLB Law, we offer Entertainment Law and Law with Politics.

A 30-week work placement is taken in year three, at home or abroad, and is the perfect opportunity to experience the legal practice in a real-world setting and make contacts for the future. What’s more, if your placement meets the necessary criteria, it can count towards 20 weeks of your training contract after graduation. The placement is optional for our International students (non EU/UK), so there’s scope for all our students to take advantage of this excellent career enhancing experience.

94% of our students feel that the staff are good at explaining things. Join us on live chat now to find out more, or register to meet us at an open day.
