Patients expect palliative care services to be of the highest quality and to be well co-ordinated in whichever area they choose to be cared for i.e. hospital, home or hospice. However, recognised variability in education for healthcare staff has been linked with the quality of care received in different settings at the end of life (The National Council for Palliative Care, 2016). In order to support and develop staff to provide excellent palliative care, this programme has been developed in partnership with St David’s Hospice, Llandudno, with expert staff who can share their experiences and knowledge in the field of palliative care.
