UNYP also works closely with its European sister college, New York College, in Athens, Greece. New York College has more than 20 years’ experience in offering international bachelor’s degree and master’s degree programs, including international MBA programs, in partnership with accredited American and European universities.

What we do

Our undergraduate programs are based on the teaching styles used in American colleges and universities. Our programs are designed to introduce students to a range of academic disciplines, to prepare them to master the techniques of critical thinking, effective communication, analysis and research, and acquire the knowledge necessary for professional specialization in a major field. All of our classes are taught in English.

Who we are

UNYP is the largest and leading English-language university in the Czech Republic, home to a dynamic community of over 1,000 students from more than 80 countries. With a faculty of 130 educators representing over 35 nations, the majority of whom are native English speakers, UNYP offers a truly international learning experience. Our courses span Business Administration, Communication & Media, International Relations, Psychology, and a variety of subjects within the social sciences, humanities, economics, and arts. All classes are taught in English, with programs accredited by American, Czech, and British authorities.

Situated in the elegant Vinohrady neighborhood in central Prague, UNYP’s campus merges 19th-century architectural beauty with cutting-edge technology and modern facilities. Our dedicated team provides exceptional support to students, fostering an environment that combines the Czech Republic’s rich academic heritage with the finest traditions of American and European higher education. Study abroad students are welcomed into this vibrant community, where they quickly become part of a globally diverse and academically rigorous experience.

About Prague

Prague is an ancient crossroads of culture, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and still a little off the beaten path for many.  Prague’s cobblestoned streets, lined with colorful and ornate 19th-century buildings, will lead you to countless cafés, museums, galleries, shops, parks, and monuments. In Prague, you will find an incredible blend of old and new, a rich history that is right before your eyes.

Not only is Prague famously beautiful, but it is also very safe. The Global Peace Index ranked the Czech Republic as the 12th safest country in the world in their 2024 report.

The city of Prague provides an excellent environment to live in, to learn in, and to expand your horizons in. Best of all, UNYP is located right in the heart of this wonderful city!

Student

Maya Anna Drahokoupil

"As a student from multiple cultural backgrounds, I often felt like the odd one out in school and classes, as if I never fully belonged to one group or another. This often made it difficult to connect with peers, and I rarely felt fully comfortable in my learning environment.

When I discovered UNYP, which has welcomed international students from over 80 different nationalities, it reassured me that my unique background would not only be accepted but also valued. Instead of standing out as different, I found a place where diversity is the norm, where people share their cultures openly, and where I could continue to grow alongside many other international students."

Sara Crutcher, USA

"When choosing a city in which to study abroad, there were many options, but one was a clear cut above the rest – Prague. Not only would I get a chance to immerse myself in one of the richest cultures in Europe, but I would be provided with an opportunity to continue my classes at a top-notch school, the University of New York in Prague. If anyone is considering an exchange program, without question, I recommend making your way to the Czech Republic."

Justin Punzalan, Philippines

"Prague is one of Europe’s great cultural centers. Experiencing the city for a semester was really magical. UNYP helped me see the academic scene in a more international setting. Going to Prague and studying at UNYP were definitely decisions I won‘t regret."
