Preparing Future Leaders
Business School Lausanne has just launched a unique and innovative 1.5 year MBA program in Sustainable Business. With the world at a turning point, social and environmental changes are demanding new solutions in the coming decades. In 2007, humanity’s footprint exceeded the earth’s bio capacity by 50%. By 2025, we will need the equivalent of 2 planets to sustain the current human consumption patterns. Business is part of the problem yet business leaders often don’t know how to embrace these sustainability issues.  How do we face these new challenges? How do we prepare leaders to contribute to a more sustainable future?
Making a Global Impact
BSL’s MBA in Sustainable Business confronts these issues head on. The first part of the program – The Foundation Part – follows the classic MBA at BSL. Following this, participants join the world-class diploma program in sustainable business that has been jointly designed with the University of St. Gallen (HSG). This program has been developed for professionals looking to make a sustainable and responsible impact on business and who seek to integrate global challenges with entrepreneurial thinking. Its unique format includes more than 50% of the syllabus being taught outside the classroom at off-site locations including the outdoors, at companies and NGOs, with thought leaders and the media. Classroom sessions, involving multiple stakeholders in addition to the program faculty, will be held at both BSL and HSG campuses.
The MBA in Sustainable Business at BSL has recently been endorsed by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and students will graduate with an MBA from BSL and a Diploma in Sustainable Business from BSL and the University of St. Gallen.

Top Quality
A recent employer choice study by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd 2010) ranks BSL in the top three business schools in Switzerland and among the Top 200 Global Business Schools. BSL’s unique modular MBA was designed in collaboration with leading CEOs and HR directors to offer a relevant, high quality business education as demanded by today’s marketplace. Personal leadership skills are taken as seriously as subject knowledge in order to prepare effective leaders and cutting-edge problem solvers.

Practical Learning
The focus on practical learning is led by a multidisciplinary faculty formed by experienced business professionals. Learning is an interactive experience in small classes where participants and faculty are professional partners in high quality discussions of real business cases.

Internationally diverse
An international student body enhances cross-cultural perspectives and an appreciation for cultural diversity. Only by exploring different approaches, will innovative and creative solutions be found – so necessary in today’s international business arena. Participants are challenged to move out of their “comfort zone” with an open mind and flexible attitude in order to competently solve problems and make informed and effective decisions.
