Teachers are more than just educators, the amount of time they spend with students means that they are mentors, caretakers and advisors.

Teaching degree programs generally focus on both practical and theoretical aspects of teaching. For example, there are classes available in classroom teaching, educational psychology, philosophy of education and history of education.
