Physiotherapy Degrees in Malaysia

Study Physiotherapy Degrees

Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy in some countries, is a discipline within the health and medical field. A physiotherapist works to help their patients to recover from injuries or illness, or restore movement and function that has been limited due to disabilities. This will also help to reduce the risk of re-injury for the patient in the future. As a physiotherapist you might work in conjunction with a medical team associated to your patient, or you could see patients for a standalone issue.

Graduates of a degree in physiotherapy can usually move straight into a career as a physiotherapist. Depending on where you intend to practise, you may need to ensure that you have the relevant professional accreditation. You might choose to work within a hospital setting, or work as a physiotherapist providing private care.

Your degree will be delivered in a mixture of modes. These will include lectures, seminars and hands-on practical sessions. Depending on your course, you may also have the opportunity to take part in a work placement as part of your degree. Modules you study could include:

  • Human Anatomy and Physiology
  • Kinesiology and Movement
  • Sports Rehabilitation
  • Musculoskeletal Studies
  • Sport and Exercise Psychology
